About

Something Borrowed Something Blue is Duke University’s co-ed Christian a cappella group, consisting of students who love God and love to sing. Originally founded in 1969 as a Christian folk band, SBSB became an a cappella group in 1993 and adopted a new wedding-themed name in 1998 to remind us that we, as the church, are the beloved bride of Christ (Revelation 21). We exist primarily to glorify God and choose to perform a wide variety of songs to communicate the love of Christ. Our repertoire reflects aspects of God's character and includes music that has meaningfully influenced our members' lives. Singing, however, is just one part of being a member of SBSB — from vivacious game nights to our annual Spring Break community service trip, SBSB blends fun, service, and music, allowing us to grow as followers of Christ and as a family of friends.
SBSB is proud to be comprised of students of all different backgrounds and identities. We are dedicated to loving one another as members of one body in Christ following 1 John 4:7-21. Thus, SBSB adheres to Duke's policy of non-discrimination and harassment: any discrimination and/or harassment based on race, color, national origin, sex (including pregnancy), gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, religion, genetic information, age, disability, or veteran status is prohibited.
