AUDITIONS OPEN!

Every year, Something Borrowed Something Blue looks for new students to join its tight-knit family of unique voices and personalities. As a group, we cherish the diverse symphony of musical talent that God has brought to Duke for his beautiful and mysterious purposes, and we highly encourage both those who are well-versed in and new to a cappella to give auditions a try.

AUDITION

Drink lots of water (no dairy!), and send us a video singing the Verse and Chorus of ANY SONG of your choice. While your options may seem endless, think about songs that allow you to comfortably display your vocal range and express your emotions. We want to meet YOU at your audition, so it's important to choose a song that fits your voice. We will also evaluate your sightreading ability, ear for pitch, and - most importantly - favorite candy.

The purpose of Something Borrowed Something Blue, as stated in our constitution, is “To glorify God through music and community.” We pray at the start and end of each rehearsal, sing worship music, and engage in discussions about the Bible and how we can best live as Jesus taught us, which is to love God and one another. While we welcome all to our group, we ask that potential new members reflect upon their own spirituality and whether or not they would be comfortable in this type of environment.

As a group, we are praying for wisdom and guidance for this upcoming year. We can't wait to see what is in store for you!
