Alison is a junior from Nashville, Tennessee, who has somehow managed to avoid drinking sweet tea or using the word “ya’ll” in her 11 years living there. In her free time, she loves to go on spontaneous adventures, play sports, eat way too much ice cream, win board games, dance to her Spotify playlists, and edit others’ poor grammar. Alison is majoring in Mechanical Engineering with an Aerospace Engineering Certificate and minors in Physics and Spanish. She hopes to one day join the aerospace industry and launch rocket ships, as well as visit every country in the world.

Louise is a sophmore from Morristown, New Jersey. She is pursuing a biology major on the pre-health track. Her love for singing began in church as a young child and only grew from there. She ran her school’s liturgical music group in high school, which is where she learned about the world of worship music. In addition to a capella, she enjoys performing musical theatre and public speaking. Her favorite worship artists are Lauren Daigle and For King and Country.

Whenever Harris is not watching movies, he is discussing how to reform the way we teach STEM, debating about global politics and China, solving physics problems, playing ping pong, or cooking Southeast Chinese dishes. In this sense, music comes last on his list of priorities, to the extent that he is also singing with the Duke Chorale while studying acoustics in physics and building loudspeakers from scratch. Harris is a public policy - physics double major.

He is a member of Duke eNable, which is a volunteer club working to develop low-cost prosthetics for clients in need. He hopes to someday develop prosthetic devices that could help individuals with physical challenges gain advanced control over their prosthetic limbs!

Joy Buchi-Ahiabuike is a sophomore from Gadsden, Alabama (Don’t fear - many people from Alabama don’t know where that is either). She’s loved music all her life, and gives special credit for that to the dozens of nostalgic childhood theme songs she has playing nonstop around in her head. Outside of class, you can find her listening to lofi, taking photos and videos of people/places/things, reading Webtoon, or laughing at something. She plans to major in biology and global health on the pre-med track, and is more than excited to continue making amazing music and memories with SBSB!

Abigail Hartemink is a sophomore all the way from Durham, NC! You can probably find her listening to Spotify, thrifting, eating ice cream, reading, sewing, or camping in Kville. She is a 4w3 on the Enneagram, a Hufflepuff, and an aficionado of all things Taylor Swift. With a passion for the arts and performing, she is involved in everything from studio art to theater. As a member of SBSB, she loves reflecting the Lord’s beauty through song!

Damilola Bankole is a Duke freshie from Atlanta, Georgia. She is so excited to be apart of the SBSB fam. She has been singing since forever, but when she is not singing she enjoys performing in theatre productions, playing piano, cooking (she’s a massive foodie), and working out. As of right now, Damilola wants to be a doctor in the future so her plan is to double major in Global Health and Spanish on the premed track. She absolutely loves languages and hopes to be able to know at least seven languages at some point in her life (she already knows four rn). She is so grateful for the opportunity to be apart of a community in which she can worship God and explore her passion of singing at the same time and she can’t wait to perform with the best a capella group on campus! ;)

Ella Taylor is a sophmore from Crozet, Virginia, and she is psyched to be surrounded by fellow Duke fans! (she was born in the Duke Hospital, but grew up in UVA territory) She has always enjoyed music, whether it’s singing in the car, choir, or playing piano while her twin brother, Joseph, plays guitar. Ella finds joy in traveling to the CoLab to make gifts, running through the Duke Gardens while listening to the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack, and eating copious amounts of popcorn while chilling with friends. She also can’t wait for her friends to eventually meet her dogs, Teddy and Cappie. Ella hopes to double major in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering, and she is looking forward to deepening her relationship with God through song and the wonderful peeps in SBSB:)

Yeeke is a sophmore who grew up in Oregon but moved to Utah during high school. Due to the two places she has lived, she is indeed a granola girl. She loves the outdoors; you can find her snowboarding in the winter and wake surfing in the summer. Aside from that, she loves playing all sports, especially tennis, ping pong, badminton, and volleyball. She is currently undecided with her major (hopefully she’ll figure that out soon) but she is set on the pre med track. Music has always been a part of Yeeke’s life and she is very excited to continue singing and performing with SBSB!

Alex Whang is a sophomore from Chapel Hill, NC (although he has been a Duke fan his entire life.) When he’s not singing with SBSB, you can find him playing ultimate frisbee, sports betting, or listening to Illenium. He is also in a perpetual state of injury, and you can often hear him complaining about them at rehearsals. He plans on studying Computer Science. If you didn't know already, he actually switched out of the Pratt School of Engineering! Alex is also the sole reason we can’t practice on Wednesday nights.

Alto
Jessica Zhong is a junior from Cary, North Carolina. She has actually lived in the same 15-mile-radius circle her entire life, yet still needs a GPS to get pretty much anywhere. As a newbie to the a cappella scene, she owes her love of singing to her classical music background (namely, many many hours spent playing violin and piano). She has also dabbled in assorted athletics such as cheerleading, TaeKwonDo, and mountain biking, but is at best very mediocre at all of them. In her free time, Jessica loves playing card and board games, eating fruit, and hugging her friends’ stuffed animals. Though in an ideal world she would have seven minors and no major, she has overcome her indecisiveness with a double major in psychology and economics.
